The reasons we hear most are lead time, the number of brands in the maintenance store and the wish to buy chain, trough and mounting parts from one party. During a breakdown availability weighs heaviest: an equivalent article shipped today is worth more than the same type number in four weeks.
Inner width and height must hold the cable package with about 10% clearance. The bend radius is at least ten times the diameter of the thickest cable, or twelve to fifteen times for shielded or thick power cables. Then we look at fill weight per metre relative to the unsupported or guided length, and at the design: open with crossbars, enclosed with cover strip, or tubes. If those points match, it is a full alternative.
Differences between brands sit mainly in end connectors and driver brackets. We supply the matching parts from the same Kabelschlepp series and state hole patterns and heights in advance. That tells you whether existing brackets can be reused or a simple adapter plate is needed.
When changing brands, replace the entire run including end connectors; mixing brands in one carrier causes play and early wear. While you are at it, check the fill level: many machines have been packed with extra cables over the years, and above 60% fill the carrier always loses.
