Cable carrier for food machinery

In food production the issue is not chips or dust but cleanability. Every seam where product residue can sit is a risk, and every cleaning cycle with hot water, foam and disinfectant loads the carrier. We supply cable carriers that handle washdown, with stainless steel end connectors and smooth, enclosed designs.

  • Enclosed versions without open gaps where residue collects
  • Stainless steel end connectors and mounting parts for wet zones
  • Resistant to washdown with hot water, foam and common disinfectants
  • Ex stock, with documentation for your HACCP file

On working days you receive a tailored quotation by email within 3 hours.

Cleanability comes first

An open carrier with crossbars has dozens of corners where product residue and biofilm can sit. In a wet zone you therefore choose an enclosed version with a flat top surface that lets water and foam run off. In drier zones such as packing and palletising a semi-open version is fine — there fast inspection matters more than full closure.

Material choice in wet and dry zones

The links are plastic; the difference is in the metal parts. End connectors, driver brackets and bolts are available in stainless steel, so nothing rusts in the wet zone and cleaning leaves no brown streaks. For aggressive cleaning or high temperatures we check per agent whether the plastic and the cable jacket can take the load.

Hygienic design around the axis

Where possible do not place the carrier directly above open product, and make sure the trough drains instead of holding water. Keep the number of loose parts above the product flow low and keep the carrier reachable: what a cleaner cannot reach does not get clean. Often an open-ended trough is more hygienic than a sealed hood that traps water.

Cables for washdown and chilling

In chilled and freezer applications the cable jacket stiffens, which means you need a larger bend radius than at room temperature. Choose jacket materials rated for low temperature and for oil and cleaning agents, and keep the fill level well below 60% so the stiffer cable does not jam.

Fast delivery, with paperwork

Stock items ship the same working day when ordered before 15:00. Every article shows dimensions, weights and drawings; if your hygiene file needs extra material information we supply it with the quotation on request.

Before you order: food checklist

  • Wet zone: enclosed version with a flat top surface.
  • Stainless steel end connectors and bolts.
  • Tell us the cleaning agent and temperature; we check material suitability.
  • Chilled or freezer environment? Allow a larger bend radius.
  • Mount the carrier so it stays accessible for cleaning.

Have your hygienic application reviewed

Share the zone, cleaning method and cable package. On working days you receive a quotation with the right version and stainless steel parts within three hours.

Frequently asked questions

Are cable carriers suitable for washdown?
Enclosed plastic versions with stainless steel end connectors suit common washdown with hot water, foam and disinfectant. Tell us the agent and temperature and we will check material suitability.
Is there a fully stainless steel cable carrier?
For heavy and hot applications we supply steel chain; for food zones we usually combine plastic links with stainless steel mounting parts. Tell us the zone and requirements and we will put the right combination together.
Open or enclosed in a packaging machine?
In a dry packaging zone a semi-open version works well and inspection is faster. As soon as wet cleaning happens or product lies open, enclosed is preferable.
Can you help with a retrofit in an existing line?
Yes. With the dimensions of the existing axis and cable package we calculate the new carrier and deliver it assembled, keeping downtime short.
